Essam Hayder

Is an Egyptian-French director, screenwriter, and producer with a background in screenwriting and English literature. A DFM alumnus, he has participated in numerous international labs and festivals, and his shorts have screened widely. In 2020, he founded Honey Bees Films, producing award-winning works such as Amina’s Song and Ferkry’s Thoughts. He is currently developing his first features, The Fence (director) and A Lady Called Sayeda (producer), while continuing to explore themes of migration, displacement, and social issues through film.
