Yasmina El Kamaly is a Cairo-based filmmaker who studied directing at Egypt’s Higher Institute of Cinema. Her first feature documentary, The Mother and the Bear, premiered internationally at Hot Docs 2024 and later received a Special Mention at the Cairo International Film Festival. Alongside her filmmaking practice, she has built experience across Egypt’s film and cultural landscape, contributing to programming, project coordination, and talent engagement with several leading festivals and initiatives.
