Ali, a young Arab expatriate living in Duhok, leads a lonely and isolated life, weighed down by routine and challenged by a language barrier. For seven months, he has used ChatGPT in an attempt to control his dreams and reunite with the memory of his deceased mother, but instead finds himself haunted by recurring visions of Sonia, a character from a video game. When he unexpectedly meets Sonia in real life while working as a cinema cleaner, he is drawn into a world of films and screens, where cinema becomes a language of connection, belonging, and a refuge from loneliness.
