Children s Eid

Synopsis: The Children s Eid takes place on the seventh of Dhu al-Hijjah in the historical city of Shibam. It simulates the famine that the city was going through during World War II, and many of the neighboring villages would come to the city and then distribute the churba to them. Children s songs were added at this time (Children s Eid) in order to instill in the new generation the love of giving and to make them feel what their grandparents suffered in the past.
